The Hip Resort @ Khao Lak

Good hotel, good location and good private pool. We loved it very much!

The only thing that was bit weird was a constant strange smell in the room

Amazing location, beach was exceptional, breakfast was great. Kao Lak is a really fun place with loads to see and do. It seemed the Hip resort wasn't being managed fully as it was part of another resort (where we had breakfast) so it was sometimes slightly tricky to get responses to our requests. Bed was very very hard in the room so after 5 nights it was enough. Also got washing done by the resort and it was insanely expensive, priced per item like a hotel. Cost about £40 to get a few kilos of washing done!

Quite and cozy location still good distance to interesting places and sights is Khao Lak Friendly staff and comfortable room.

Our villa was super comfy, a big room with a comfy big bed made up daily. A lovely terrace with seats and loungers with garden surroundings and nature sounds.The other villas were not too close to us so we felt quite private. Thai life resort that manages The hip resort had the breakfast facilities and swimming pool was a short walk to us. We didn't particularly enjoy the breakfast quality but it was handy and the cafe was in the beautiful garden of Thai life resort.The biggest plus for us was the beautiful beach a short walk away, this was one of the quietest and best kept beaches we encountered in Thailand. It was very peaceful and clean and we could watch the beautiful sunset and use the loungers and beach towels. Amenities like a few restaurants,a convenience store and tuk tuk stand were also nearby. We really enjoyed the mix of quiet and natural settings and easy to reach amenities nearby.

The nearest restaurant was the Thailife resorts beach restaurant, we found it a bit overpriced and the food quality was lower than other beach restaurants. We think this would be nice to improve as well as the included breakfast's quality. The road next to our villa was quite noisy in the mornings so we had to wear earplugs. We understood at check in to communicate with reception through WhatsApp but we didn't get any reaction when we messaged them here.

Own small pool great for cooling down. Good spacious bathroom. Large bedroom space. Parking. Lovely quiet surroundings. Near to a walkable to beach. Excellent breakfast. A lovely experience if you seek a peaceful location in a very Thai area. Local restaurant at entry to the complex.

Bed and aircon unit both need replacement. Limited things to do in area. This could be 5 star but needs investment. Thai life now runs this . Works well but a bit confusing when first arrive.

The complex is in a very quiet location. Our Bungalow was really nice and spacious. We walked to the beach 10 Minutes (there are some sunbeds with shadow, beach was very empty, great for long walks). The breakfast was delicious!! You need a scooter to get away. Grab was not available.

Mattress is really hard! When we checked in, we were told that we would be invited to a WhatsApp group so that we could communicate with the staff, but unfortunately that didn't work.

This resort is about 25 minutes north of Khao Lak strip but that was great! Rooms were big with kitchenette and good A/c and clean. Breakfast was also really good. The beach is beautiful about a 10 minute walk but the resort also loans out bikes free of charge. The beach had a great little restaurant owned by the hotel but there were other choices nearby. We'd read about the road being noisy. Personally that seems a bit ridiculous. It's a small road on the resort which is also used to access the Marriott next door. It wasn't at all noisy

The beds are hard but got used to them pretty quickly.

Sehr schöne Hotelanlage. Tolle geräumige Zimmer im HIP Resort. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wichtig zu wissen ist, dass die Rezeption im HIP Resort fast nie besetzt ist, es läuft alles über die Rezeption vom ThaiLife Hotel, was aber überhaupt kein Problem ist. Über eine WhatsApp Gruppe kann man alles organisieren und fragen. Das Frühstück war klasse, das beste, was wir auf unserer Thailandreise hatten.

Die Betten sind ungewöhnlich hart, auf Nachfrage wurde das Bett mittels weicheren Decken ausgelegt.

Wir waren bereits das zweite Mal dort. Eine ruhige Anlage und nicht weit zum Meer. Es ist dem Thailife Resort angeschlossen, dort ist auch das Frühstücksrestaurant. Das Frühstück ist nach wie vor sehr gut. Der Kontakt zum Personal ist hervorragend und man versucht schnell zu helfen. Die Poolvilla ist recht einfach ausgestattet, aber das wussten wir ja schon. Der Pool selbst ist sehr schön und wird auch regelmäßig gepflegt. Das Meer dort bzw. der Strandabschnitt ist nach wie vor einer der schönsten in Thailand. Sehr ruhig und wenig Menschen.

Es hat gestunken nach Fäkalien. Die erste Nacht konnte ich kaum schlafen. Man versuchte uns zu helfen, es kam eine Firma. Das hielt ein zwei Tage an, dann ging es wieder los. Man hat schon den Eindruck das das Hip Resort sehr vernachlässigt wird und alles Geld ins Thailife reingesteckt wird. Die Anlage wirkt ungepflegt. Der Sonnenschirm kaputt, notdürftig angebunden. Wenn es regnet kann man nicht draußen sitzen, kaum eine Überdachung und eine Regenrinne ist auch nicht vorhanden, es tropft also noch Stunden nach dem Regen vom Dach. Die Sitzmöglichkeiten sind sehr einfach ( hatte ich letztes Jahr schon bemängelt) , den ganzen Abend kann man nicht drauf sitzen, im Thailife hingegen sehen sie toll aus. Wir kommen erst wieder wenn die Anlage saniert ist.

Udvarias személyzet, tökéletes tisztaság.
