Tolani Resort Koh Samui

The staff was very welcoming and the views was brilliant from the restaurant.

The price of food in the restaurant was pricey, £30 for 2 club sandwiches and a pineapple juice seemed excessive. We also paid £30 for a 20min journey to the airport with the resort which is shocking.

Liked: We loved the aesthetic of Tolani from the moment we arrived. It's beautifully designed, calm and stylish without feeling stuffy. The location on Koh Samui is great, and the music around the resort set a relaxed mood that made it easy to switch off. Our private villa pool was the highlight, perfect for a quiet morning dip or an evening unwind. The staff were warm and attentive throughout, always happy to help. Breakfast was a treat too, with a buffet that had plenty of choice and kept us happy every morning. We'd happily come back.

Disliked: Nothing worth mentioning, it was a really lovely stay. It is slightly more expensive than other locations

When we were looking for a place to stay, the clincher was the promotion the resort had for 'Unlimited Spa'. I thought it sounded scammy and it can;t really be 'Unlimited'. But O M G,.... my husband and I booked ourselves a spa session every single day we were there! And the Spa was EXCELLENT. We had wonderful massages every single day! It was a good thing we booked the Unlimited Spa stay, because there is nothing much outside of the resort. There's a big convenience store about 20 mins walk outside, but not much else. Villa - Our Pool Villa was beautiful, clean and comfortable. For the size of the villa, the pool in the villa was huge. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the villa. However. they had some water issues on the first day we arrived and the bath water came out all murky. It was ok the next day. The shower fixtures were kind of rusty and wonky and needs fixing/replacing. But the shower still works. All else in the Villa was fantastic. Huge Bathtub! Restaurant - The food was good but quite expensive. We did not have much of a choice to eat elsewhere actually unless we took a taxi out. Beach - It's a beautiful beach but you can;t swim in it. It's nice to walk out. Staff - They are exceptional. Friendly and Helpful! They go out of their way to help make our stay comfortable. Pool - We loved the pool! Nice, clean, big pool and DEEP too. It was great to swim in. Just wonderful. We left our previous resort because it has a tiny pool so this was a welcome surprise. Entertainment - Because there was nothing much happening outside the the resort, they made the effort to organise something on some nights for the guests, eg.. BBQ night, and a few others dinner events I can't recall. Good effort guys!

Very nice, quiet hotel. Lots of space, friendly staff and clean. Rooms very comfortable.

Location isn't amazing! Could do with something to sit on in the rooms. The cold and hot pools are hard to get in and out of.

The amount of space you get for your money is good. The cost/performance in terms of space and the private pool is amazing. But in the end, it’s probably not worth it considering the cons.

Room * Just not well thought out. Huge mosquito problem and the doors to the villas don’t seal at all. You WON’T sleep. * Generally poor design - things like no easily accessible power points and no power points near the bed. * Internet router mounted behind the bedhead, flashing lights all night, etc. * Toilet with no door and not even a proper dividing wall. If you come with a partner, be prepared to watch each other poop. The water here isn’t drinkable either, so if you make that mistake, be prepared to REALLY watch each other poop. * Shower is poorly designed as well. Water just sprays around the villa. Moisture in the same space as the bed, etc. * Rain shower head clogged with mineral buildup. * Poor maintenance - taps falling off the shower wall, shelves falling apart. * Hand shower holder not properly affixed to the wall. Turning it on turns it into a loose fire hose that douses the villa. Staff * Generally pleasant, but low knowledge. Even main reception staff will have to make phone calls to answer the most basic of questions. Other staff have very low to zero English ability. Breakfast * Had the pancakes. They were obviously cooked on a previous day and were as dry as cardboard. Pick them up by the edge and they don’t even flop. * Their restaurant, KOA Dining, is open-air, so be prepared to ‘enjoy’ the food along with the bad mosquito problem and stray cats. * The dining music suddenly changes to TikTok/Reels sounds as the staff member who’s Bluetooth-ing the music starts doomscrolling, realises, and quickly switches back. Other * Pillows are ridiculously high (even for a side sleeper), and there are no other options. Ended up sleeping using a decorative cushion wrapped in a towel. Again, not the end of the world, but not exactly 5-star. Activities * SUP is available, but with no SUP paddle?!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Two unforgettable weeks in our little paradise ❤️🌴 After spending two wonderful weeks at Tolani Resort Koh Samui, leaving honestly felt a little bit like saying goodbye to a second home. From the very first day, we felt incredibly welcome and cared for. Tolani is not just a beautiful resort – it has a very special atmosphere. Peaceful, intimate, surrounded by tropical nature and far away from the feeling of a large, anonymous hotel. Our room and the entire resort were always exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained, and there is this wonderful sense of calm that makes you slow down and simply enjoy being there. But what made these two weeks truly special were the people. A huge thank you to Koko and Jack from the service team. You were both so warm, attentive and genuinely kind and made us feel welcome every single day. And of course Rock at the pool – always there with a smile and making our days by the pool even more enjoyable. We also want to thank the entire reception and housekeeping teams. The service was outstanding. Whenever we needed anything, we simply sent a WhatsApp message and within minutes someone was there to help. Nothing ever felt complicated, and every request was handled with such friendliness and care. After two weeks, you start recognizing faces, exchanging smiles and developing your own little daily routines – and that is when a beautiful hotel becomes something more personal. That is exactly how Tolani felt to us. We came here looking for peace, relaxation and a little piece of paradise – and that is exactly what we found. Thank you to the entire Tolani family for taking such wonderful care of us and for making these two weeks on Koh Samui so memorable. We are leaving with beautiful memories and a little sadness because our time here is over. We will miss this place and, most of all, the wonderful people who made it feel like home. ❤️ Hopefully this is not goodbye, but simply see you again. 🌴❤️

Sehr schöne Pool Villen, sehr hohes Maß an Privatsphäre. Zu ruhige Lage. Sehr freundliches Personal.

Auflagen der Liegen am Hauptpool stark verschmutz, Hotel sehr abgelegen.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit tollen Pool, sehr modern und große Zimmer. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, man kann aus verschiedenen Menüs auswählen. Der Kaffee schmeckt hervorragend. In der nähe 7 Eleven und einige Restaurants 900 Meter Fußweg.

Frühstück nichts besonderes. Die Mittarbeiter waren alle nett und gaben ihr bestes. Strand nicht zum Schwimmen auch nichts in der Nähe.

Habe ein schlechteres Zimmer bekommen. Kein Safe vorhanden. Mehrfach Probleme mit dem Wasser. Abends kam eine braune Brühe aus allen Wasserhähnen. Täglich wurde das Wasser des Pools weniger nach Anfrage wurde nicht aufgefüllt. Wasser wurde abgedreht ohne Vorwarnung. Beim abendlichen Barbecue wurde das ausgewählte Fleisch an andere Gäste ausgegeben nachdem wir eine dreiviertel Stunde warten durften bis es durch war. Die Speisen im Restaurant schmeckten nicht besonders. Sind mit dem Fahrrad zum 7Eleven gefahren daneben ein sehr gutes Thai-Restaurant zu normalen Preisen.

Bungalow met privézwembad was geweldig. Fijne zonnebedden, veel schaduw. Grandioze bedden ongekend comfortabel. Mooie, schone ruimte, goede indeling. Gebied met zwembad, welness en douches. De finishing touch ontbreekt links en rechts wel maar over het algemeen enorm genoten.

Er was één vrouwelijke receptioniste die ronduit onbeschoft was. Dit zou het visitekaartje moeten zijn bij ontvangst. Helaas was haar gedrag dusdanig negatief dat het ons een rotgevoel gaf. Van een strand moet je niets verwachten. Dat is er niet. Geen ligstoelen, geen zwemmogelijkheden.
