Amdaeng Bangkok Riverside Hotel

It looks nothing like the photos. This is a legit catfish hotel. Pool was dirty and unusable. The hotel is very dirty, grimy and dusty. The toilet inside our room was in a glass shower screen right in the middle of the room with no privacy. There is no parking and I was led to a disgusting slum area 200m from the hotel filled with rubbish to park my car. When checking out they showed me a photo of a small dot of pizza sauce my daughter dropped onto the bed sheet and they tried to charge me replacement cost of the sheets.

3 mois après, le personnel n'a toujours pas traité notre demande de remboursement. L'hôtel ne répond plus à mes messages et à mes mails. Nous avons payés 5 nuits dans un hôtel où nous n'avons pas pu séjourner en raison de son l'insalubrité. C'est notre pire expérience en Thaïlande et nous y allons chaque année avec mon ami qui est moitié Thaï.

Une expérience extrêmement décevante Nous avions choisi cet hôtel notamment pour son toit-terrasse, qui semblait magnifique sur Booking et offrait une vue exceptionnelle sur le fleuve. Malheureusement, cet espace était inaccessible pendant notre séjour, alors qu’il s’agissait d’un des critères importants de notre réservation. La chambre était par ailleurs dans un état inacceptable : le plafond fuyait et l’eau coulait, les rideaux et les draps étaient tachés, la vue depuis la fenêtre donnait sur des déchets, le plafond n’était pas terminé et les finitions étaient bâclées. Le personnel nous a proposé une autre chambre pour la nuit, mais après avoir constaté l’état général de l’établissement, nous ne souhaitions tout simplement plus y rester. Le lendemain, nous avons donc demandé le remboursement des 5 nuits restantes. À ce jour, 24 jours après notre départ, nous n’avons toujours reçu aucun remboursement. Nous avons eu le sentiment de ne pas être pris au sérieux et d’avoir été trompés du début à la fin. Entre les photos très avantageuses sur Booking, le toit-terrasse inaccessible, l’état de la chambre et l’absence de remboursement à ce jour, cette expérience a été extrêmement décevante. Nous déconseillons fortement cet établissement.

From the minute our Bolt driver tried to find the hotel I had a feeling our stay would not go well!! Down seedy alley, to even seedier entrance. Very nice and obliging staff but the premises!! Out of the 1950’s. Right down to the lift. Has to be seen to be believed. Have to order breakfast the day before. I think the bacon was cooked 3 days ago but the omelette was fresh. “Balcony overlooking pool” - well, the pool had a cover on it covered by leaves!! View of shanties!! “Private bathroom”!! Well, it is in the bedroom room but because of the glass doors (to toilet and shower) definitely not private!! Unable to get tv channels so tried to call reception - can’t!! Made the journey down, manager came up, got it working after a while. No chanells but luckily last guest not logged out so got YouTube. Next night same deal EXCEPT, I can’t be bothered traipsing downstairs hence I’ve got to write this!! Would be the worst hotel ever. Will definitely NOT be back

The hotel was right next to the river with a lovely view. There was a really good restaurant on the ground floor with live music. The food was also very good and we had a great time.

The room was great, nice and big and loved the quirky decor. Bed was super comfortable.

The front entrance was not very nice and could be dramatically improved by some TLC. The decking over looking the water could also be improved.

Der Flussblick ist außergewöhnlich. Die Lage hat uns gut gefallen, die kurze Strecke zur Hauptstraße hat uns nichts ausgemacht. Leider ist es sehr hellhörig, man hört am späten Abend und auch in der Nacht die Schiffe fahren. Das Zimmer, generell das Hotel, könnte eine Renovierung gebrauchen, es ist schon alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Der Pool war nicht benutzbar und abgedeckt, vielleicht wegen der Off-Season. Das Personal war nett und freundlich. Es gibt wohl den kostenfreien Service mit dem Cart bis zur Straße gefahren zu werden, bei Nachfrage konnten wir diesen auch nutzen. Leider wurde dies aber nicht proaktiv angeboten, was wir schade finden. Insgesamt aber ein schönes Hotel, uns hat der Aufenthalt bis auf den Schifffahrtslärm gut gefallen. Dafür hatte man ja den schönen Flussblick 😊

Sehr hellhörig

A hidden Gem directly at the Chao Phraya River. Not a classical neighborhood most would go for, but it was very quiet with birds singing in the morning for a lovely start in a busy day - and sure, also the gentle sound of all the boats passing by makes this an interesting stay.
