The Blue Rim Vacation Cottage Khao Yai

It's a nice place. The house is nice. All the good reviews here are true. But you need to know one thing so you can make a decision whether to stay here. It's very close to the road. And it's quite a major road. And the Thailand Highway Department has put Rumble Strips on the road right outside this place. Rumble strips - the raised white lines on the road to make cars vibrate to tell drivers to slow down. There are four sets of rumble strips right outside the property. And the noise is unbearable. Every time a car goes by - which is often - there are four huge vibrations going through the ground and into the house. It's impossible to enjoy the place. No relaxing in the garden, because of the noise from the road. No quiet afternoon naps. And interrupted sleep every night. The road isn't so busy at night. But there are cars from time to time. All it takes is a car passing at one o'clock in the morning, then another at one thirty in the morning, then another at two in the morning - and your sleep is ruined. We stayed four nights here and I was on the verge of madness by the end. I felt ill. Sleep deprivation. The other thing is that the property is at the end of a hill in the road. Trucks in low gear crawling up the road. Nightmarish levels of noise. I looked through the other reviews here. One person mentioned the noise from the rumble strips. Others didn't. If you are not sensitive to noise, then this place will be fine. If you are like me, then perhaps look for somewhere down a lane away from the main road. This road noise problem is not the fault of the property owner. But it does have a major impact on the experience of staying here.

Das Häuschen ist gemütlich, mit netter Terrasse und einer guten Raumaufteilung. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man zur Selbstversorgung benötigt. Die ruhige Lage ist gut, sofern man mit eigenem Auto anreist. Man ist nicht mitten im Geschehen, aber nur wenige Fahrminuten von Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants und dem Nationalpark entfernt.

Es könnte etwas besser gepflegt und geputzt werden. An manchen Stellen etwas feucht-muffig und staubig.

The house and the layout with all facilities provided are very good and suitable to stay.

The shower is not well functioning, the warm water is not available in a shower room. It is quite freezing when taking that shower 🫠

Very nice little house well furnished with smooth check in and out. Very good communication with host who even provided us with a free huge Thai breakfast 😀

House is in a very nice garden but close to the road where there were some audible warning strips on the bend quite noisy when some traffic. It was not an issue at night as not much traffic on this road.

สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกเยอะมาก มีมาม่าให้ด้วย ทานตอนเช้า พอดีมากๆค่ะ มีไมโครเวฟ สะอาด ไม่ค่อยมีฝุ่น คนเป็นภูมิแพ้ นอนได้สบายค่ะ ส่วนน้องเต้าหู้น่ารักมากค่ะ เรียกก็มาหาเลย 🥰

Good location, good size, easy check in

This place is amazing. We initially booked for a week, but then extended to two weeks! That is to say how much we liked it. It is a private little house, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious common space and a large outdoor/garden area. Perfect for a family with kids or two couples. Not quite ideal for toddlers if they like to play with everything they see, since there are no cupboards to put away cleaning products or kitchen stuff. Both bedrooms have AC, which is very important in the summer months. The kitchen has all the appliances you may need, although keep in mind that you won't be able to cook a feast on a single electric stove element. It is great to cook a little something for breakfast or a quick meal. The fridge and freezer allow you to buy the fresh veggies from the farms around and store it during your stay. The location is incredible. There's so much to do in this area, and this place is very centrally located, at the crossroads between the East-West road and the one that goes North, so everything is within a 15-20min drive. There are stores, farms restaurants and cafés within a 5-10min drive, and the national park is only 15min away. Really an excellent place, quiet and beautiful. Highly recommended!

The showers could be improved for a flawless experience, but seriously, I'm being overly picky here because it's already really good.
