Racha Kiri Resort & Spa, Khanom

Beautiful views. Set in a spectacular location on the hillside with panoramic views of khanom. We have never stayed in a more spectacular setting and we have done a lot of travelling, so this is saying something! Very atmospheric. The hotel is dated but still holds a lot of its former glory. Interconnecting rooms were great for our family of 5. Spacious with fantastic bathrooms and wonderful views. The pools were gorgeous. Lots of nature. Saw monitor lizards and loads of butterflies. Kids loved this! Staff were also fantastic. It was extremely clean - 100% score for this!

It is dated but the fact that it is an old hotel, didn’t bother us. We love older buildings Because they often house character. Unfortunately, the lack of maintenance was our main issue. Toilet seats were broken and soap dispensers were falling off the walls in the bathroom off main restaurant. A lot of blown lightbulbs in bedrooms had not been replaced. The jetty is rotting and quite honestly, a bit dangerous. The beds were very hard – I would be surprised if these mattresses have been changed in 19 years. It made us feel very sad because this hotel could still be wonderful if the owners were prepared to spend even a small amount of money on maintaining it. Why leave such a wonderful hotel, in such a magical setting, with fantastic staff to decay in this way?

Everthindwas as we wished and we have stayed at many many resorts in Thailand Some people write that it’s a bit old ..sure but The charm is what it crisply is’ a cliff top resort over;poking the bay Samui and Koh Phangan If you want bling ..go where you look at your neighbours back wall or listen to them entertaining themselves U won’t get that here and if you want to travel to the boom boom boom bar 3 kms away ..they hire scooters

Lost.. old royal world charm ..views to absolutely die for ..stunning location ..but we had a car ..or they rent scooters here so being a little away form the boom boom boom bars clubs isn’t an issue ..unless you want to walk the 300 mths to Khanom famous seafood restaurants…sea view cafe decks close by … The feeling of old royalty walking around this place is everywhere ..yes it’s a little dated but ..we looked at other modern resorts and there was nothing to compare the feeling of being in this place ….pther than stacked rooms ..garden views of your neighbours hut ..flash hut experience ..ho hum …yes it’s a little run down but ..I suppose ..it’s..what are you travelling for ..to feel like your own favourite cafe scene in Europe ..or exposing yourself to the elite bygone era that is everywhere around f this place and super quiet very attentive staff ..if you want to smile relax and embrace its outstanding energy Breakfast 12 mths above the lapping waves .. swimming pool to yourself and mostly empty in low season Beds were perfect ..water pressure was strong .with real hot water ..lol We had 417 ..stunning views ..and watching the monitor lizards 🦎 wandering around happily was an extra n]bonus ..they have the normal activities hut and w pools ..

What didn’t we like .. We didn’t like the fact we had to whole place to ourselves other than expat locals coming on lunch dates and a swim and a chat .. We didn’t like the huge breakfasts that we couldn’t finish ‘we didn’t like the cheerful staff We divinely didn’t like the lapping waves sounds or the 28 degree heat winds emulation upwards for the sea300 mtr cliff top water frontage And we hated the smiling receptionist that`t couldn’t do enough for us .. English is not their first language here but there are enough staff around that if you aren’t here to be in a hurry to get back to your normal life’ things work out fine !

The view. not a lot of tourist, so quiet. Had the pool basically for myself the whole week. Very friendly and helpful staff. The style of the resort, old but beautiful (like old Royal Bangkok style).

No real coffee

The location was great. The villa suite we booked was spacious. The staff were very friendly and did their best to make up for the poor management and facilities.

Where do I begin? The entire place is run down and neglected. Maintenance issues not addressed, awful, cheap plastic folding chairs and tables by the pool. Pool always murky and full of leaves and flowers. Basket of used towels not moved for 3 days. Windows in the bathroom that were hard to even see out of. Bath and basin stained. Night 1, restaurant only had 1 bottle of white wine. The staff managed to source 2 more from another venue they owned. Night 2 and 3 they had 2 bottles, night 4 they had only one, and they didn’t replenish so by night 5, no wine. We were basically the only guests and so they didn’t bother to have a full stock of menu items, including basics such as bananas. If you book a villa, take an eye mask. The curtains are not block out. At night the security lights flood the room and the morning light makes it impossible to sleep past 6am

No words can express how amazing, kind, devoted & professional the staff at this hotel were! Deaw and his team were all exceptional. The time and effort made from the cleaners to management were phenomenal. Deaw, who spoke terrific English, was always on hand, he organised a room upgrade, flowers, fresh fruits, and a in-room massage after a 17 hr flight, nothing was any trouble for him, Deaw was full of local knowledge, he organised a rental car, airport transfer but more so he was always willing to help, assist and was kind , caring and an asset to the hotel! The hotel facilities were great, the rooms were stunning and resembled a rustic bygone era. The view from the room was exceptional Thank you Deaw and staff at Racha kiri. I would also like to mention the restaurant staff were lovely and thoughtful also.

As I love the staff here, the resort itself is beautiful, well designed however slightly dated and in need of an update. It wouldn't take much to reflect the hotels former glory, as most of the areas are breathtakingly stunning and well maintained, but the room i stayed in was a little dusty, air-conditioning wasn't really cool (however a technician and fans were provided at first instance) and all was well and toilet occasionally had back up issues and wouldn't flush properly. The seats on the balcony could use replacing, however Deaw showed me the deluxe rooms before I left and they were out of this world and would have loved to stay in these rooms. The food in the restaurant wasn't upto a standard I felt the hotel deserved, whether or not it was due to low season and food was nuked in a microwave or frozen defrosted then refrozen, it just wasn't as fresh as I hoped it would be, although good, I was quite ill the following day, however the staff were the kindest, most honest human beings I have ever met in any hotel.
