It's just enough out of the craziness but close enough that you can walk (if you like the heat) or catch a tuk tuk or the free shuttle into the main streets. The view from our room was spectacular and the room is a great size with all amenities. A great view comes with the trade off of having to walk up a lot of stairs and hills - most of this is taken care of with the free shuttles to your room - but it wouldn't be a good place for anyone with mobility issues. The staff are lovely and friendly. We quite liked having the Coral Room access where we could stop for a cool drink and snack on the way down to the pool.
The breakfast buffet offered a great spread but some items ended up being cold as they were kept under heat lamps. But that's just a tiny thing.

The location was beautiful - on the side of the mountain, but really inconvenient to get anywhere within walking distance (especially in the heat). It felt silly catching a grab just to get to 7/11 a few min drive up the road for water and snacks but it was too far to walk during the hottest part of the day
