If you want to be not far from Nang Thong beach and the bars and restaurants at that end of Khao Lak, without all the noise, then this is a decent budget option as it's on a side road on the mountain side of the main street and is quite quiet. The room was big, so was the bed, and the little fridge was quiet (important for a light sleeper like me). Basic facilities - a kettle, coffee mug and a glass on the bedside table. You get the standard two small bottles of water every day. The aircon worked well (you really need it at this time of year) and was easily adjustable. If you're into cooking, the restaurant/school next door run by the Les Fleurs owner is apparently excellent. They also do a craft beer camp but I know nothing about it. There are two good coffee places nearby (Mali and Waankarn) plus two 7-11s at the bottom of the road and a few supermarkets.

The patio area of my room looked out at the back wall of the next-door hotel, so all you see is a wall and aircon units. The cleaner left the sliding door open before I moved in, presumably to air out the room, but it let in loads of mosquitos. I had to go on a killing spree to get rid of them all and never opened the door again, because they seemed to like hanging around outside on the glass door and the patio walls. The bathroom door handle needs fixing as it was hard to close the door properly without the knob almost coming off. Thankfully the screens on the bathroom windows did their job and kept out the insects. I might have misread the listing but there wasn't really a communal kitchen area - it's part of the cooking school next door and I was told you have to ask permission to use the area in case there is a course being held. There is no microwave for heating up ready meals from 7-11, but if I was a top chef I probably wouldn't allow one in my guest house either!

She’s really lovely and very welcoming. All the staff was really friendly and made us enjoy our stay. Location is good, not too far from the seaside and a few steps from the main road. The room was clean and the appliances working. Highly recommend it :)

The parking is a bit difficult as there is no private parking at the location

- Perfect location: 15 min pleasant walk to Nang Thong beach- the most beautiful long sandy beach in the area, plenty of eating places, 711, beautiful unique souvenir shops, nice cafes around, all walkable. Close to Khao Lak Lam Ru national park as well (short drive). If you need to go further, many taxis (song thaew/ tuktuk type) right outside with fixed listed prices, just check the price board to be sure. - Owner and her assistants are very responsive, attentive, she helped book a nice day trip which I could not find on any online tour platforms. Guests can check her tour website at the kitchen area. - The room is basic but good facilities, spacious, quiet, barely hear any thing from outside or next door room. - Bonus point for her sweet old dog who is as attentive as the owner, always at the reception to greet guests.

- Shower Water pressure can be better, stronger in the morning than at night maybe due to high demand hours. - Bugs spray needed if you want to sit at the balcony. - Pillows are a bit hard and thick.

Das Haus ist sehr Zentral gelegen und das Personal sehr freundlich. Wandee hat uns einen Ausflug organisiert und wir haben einen super schönen Kochkurs bei Ihr gemacht. Es ist ein sehr einfaches Haus, aber es ist alles da was man braucht,es ist sauber, das Frühstück ist einfach, wird aber frisch zubereitet und ist sehr lecker. Bei diesem Preis -Leistungsverhältnis gibt es nichts zu meckern. Wandee wir kommen wieder.

Location is good and away from main road so it’s quiet.

The shower head was weak and it took very long for very little water to come out. Temperature fluctuates very quickly and it’s hard to find the warm setting. Mosquitoes probably as I was next to the rose garden.

Great place to stay. Lovely restaurant and outdoor area. Central to everything. Rooms clean and cute. Do the cooking school if you have the chance. Amazing how quick and easy Thai cooking can be.
